Nobody likes to feel stuck in a situation, after making a decision, not knowing which way to turn... After receiving a well rehearsed pitch about why your agent is the best - what can you do if the reality doesn't match expectations?

The process of selling your property is in itself a daunting task and you want to make sure you have efficient hands that would make the process a lot easier for you. You want results and you deserve to get results. Here are things to do when you are unhappy with your agent…
Half of the time in life, we have issues with others due to lack of communication. By far the best approach is to explain what is making you unhappy and what aspect of their services you would like them to improve on. Your agent is employed to work for you let's remember, and they should be receptive to your feedback.
Having identified the aspects of your agent's services you are not happy with, you can go ahead to pitch your suggestions to them and how best they can incorporate it into practice to help create the right results you need. Most real estate agents are professionals who may have practiced for years, you do not want to come off as imposing with your ideas, pitch them with the benefit of making collective progress.
If you have tried all means to work with your agents, and nothing has changed, it may be time to check the details of your contract on how you can terminate without incurring costs or legal liabilities. Within the first fourteen days, you have the right to cancel any contract within UK law. Beyond this, you will likely have signed a minimum term contract and will have to wait until this term has expired before serving notice. Notice is always encouraged in writing so that records can be kept, then wait until this notice period ends before your relationship is finished.
Now is the time to change things. If you are satisfied that you have fulfilled the conditions for the termination of your prior contract then you may move forward without repercussion. With the benefit of hindsight, this time you would want to be specific with your expectations and instructions and make sure that their profile fits the bill of the type of agency that you are looking for. Make sure that your new agent isn't a carbon copy of the old (or even worse, owned by the same brand - an easy trap to fall in to!).
If you haven't been receiving the levels of service that you would expect or were promised, we’d love to get you moving.
